MEMORIAL PARK GOLF CLUB
Dear Membership,
As we enter the last couple of months in this season, one wonders where the summer has gone. We have accomplished some of our goals at the course. A new tee has been created for the ladies on hole number 2; sand has been placed in the traps either to replace the old sand or increase the amount in those traps that were low. Cart paths were resurfaced in some areas. Trees trimmed; stumps removed; flowers planted; memorial plates set out, greens aerified, certain areas re-seeded, coffee, cups and bowls donated, equipment loaned, and on and on. The list of members who help the course out when they can continues to grow. We have tried to thank most of you through our “Swing Thoughts” column in the Kenton Times . If we missed you, we are extremely sorry. To this group of people, we as a board, are very grateful.
When we met at our recent monthly meeting, it was determined that we did not need to make this recreational activity, during tough economic times, more expensive. Rates for the 2010 season will not increase nor will the daily rate. We will attempt absorb the price increases we have experienced in the last year by marketing our course even more to out-of-towners. Our weekday morning specials will be advertised to the surrounding communities on an even larger scale. Once a player comes and plays our course, they almost always return. Their compliments about our course, sells it to their friends.
We thank you for being a member of our course for the 2009 season and look forward to seeing you on the fairways and greens during the 2010 season. To those of you who helped us out one way or another during the year – THANK YOU!
