November 5, 2018

Monday Fall League the team of David Bettinger Chris Rogers Cole Weyant Rick Brown and Tami McFadden finished the league in first place with a 45 under. The second place team of Brad Hanna DeWayne Spencer Jeff Butcher Tom Taylor and Joni Rensing with a 41 under. The team of Jordan Johnson Todd Hayter Randy Comer Russ Wallace and Vicki Brown with a 40 under for third place. 

Wednesday Fall League the team of John Krock, Reese Overly, Matt Bailey, Jason Conley and Vaughn Pfeiffer and the team of Richard Baum Jordan Temple Ike Wirble Don Dodds Jane Baker with a 48 under the teams had a play off for first place. The Krock team won first place and second place going to the Baum team. Third place went to the team of Rob Longbrake Brian McFadden Kenny Risner Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer. 

As of November 1st the fall rates began.

The team of Richard Baum Jordan Temple Ike Wirble Don Dodds Jane Baker are in first place with a 37 under, the team of Rob Longbrake Brian McFadden Kenny Risner Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer are in second place with a 34 under, and the team of Brad Hanna Mike Fink Jerry Waddle Tammy Wright and Kim Butcher are in 3rd place with a 33 under. 

On Saturday Oct 28th members appreciation par 3 challenge a 100 shotgun .Chili soup and snacks, come join the fun. Call or stop by Pro shop to sign up.

The team of Brad Hanna DeWayne Spencer Jeff Butcher Tom Taylor and Joni Rensing are in third place with a 26 under.

Wednesday Fall League the team of Richard Baum Jordan Temple Ike Wirble Don Dodds Jane Baker are in first place with a 33 under. The team of Brad Hanna Mike Fink Jerry Waddle Tammy Wright and Kim Butcher and the team of Rob Longbrake Brian McFadden Kenny Risner Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer are battling for second place with a 29 under.

The Postal Outing had a lot of fun a total of 10 teams played the team of Jack Rensing Mike Fink Junior Gross Carter Cavalier and John Connolly came in first place with a 59. The team of Billy Cozad Wayne Moon Terry Nichols Dane Osborne and Joni Rensing took second with a 60. Third place team Corey Hayter Chris Rogers Steve Benson Gerald Purcell and Jane Baker with a 60. 

The VMPGC will be hosting the Member Appreciation Par 3 Challenge a 1.00 shotgun.

Monday Fall League: The team of David Bettinger Chris Rogers Cole Weyant Rick Brown and Tami McFadden are holding tight to the lead with a 24 under. The Brad Hanna Team and Jordan Johnson team are battling for second place with a 22 under. 

Wednesday Fall League: The team of Richard Baum Jordan Temple Ike Wirble Don Dodds Jane Baker took a leap into first place with a 27 under. The team of Rob Longbrake Brian McFadden Kenny Risner Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer are holding 2nd place with a 24 under. The team of Brad Hanna Mike Fink Jerry Waddle Tammy Wright and Kim Butcher fell to third place with a 23 under.

VMPGC held their 2nd annual two-person scramble on Saturday a great time was held by all with 18 teams. Special thanks to the To Law Office and Ace Hardware for their donations. Division 1 in first place Joe Prater and Doug Wright with a -10, 2 Nd place David Bettinger and Joey Osborn with a 7-under and third place Drew Hobensack and John Mcentee with the 6 under.
Division 2 Bob Davis and Rob Davis took first place with a 10 under second-place Eric Henley and Lew Hanna with a 2-under and in third place Carl Sloat and Steve Benson with the two under. Thank you to our members and their participation. 

VMPGC is in full force support of October breast cancer awareness, with our pink cups and pink ribbon flags. To honour our lost and to encourage our survivors to keep the fight strong.

The team of Jordan Johnson Todd Hayter Randy Comer Russ Wallace and Vicki Brown third place with a 14 under.

Wednesday Fall League the team of Brad Hanna Mike Fink Jerry Waddle Tammy Wright and Kim Butcher with a 20 under hold the lead. In second place the team of Richard Baum Jordan Temple Ike Wirble Don Dodds Jane Baker with a 19 under. The team of Rob Longbrake Brian McFadden Kenny Risner Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer are in third place with a 17 under.

VMPGC will be having a 2 person scramble on October 6 , 10:00 shotgun start with a minimum combined handicap of 20. We have 2 divisions 20-29 and a 30 and over team handicap. All proceeds go toward course improvements. Roof Law Office and Ace Hardware have donated a grill and OSU Inner Circle Winter Sports tickets to be raffled. $25.00 entry fee plus green fees. Monday Fall League: the team of Brad Hanna, DeWayne Spencer, Jeff Butcher, Tom Taylor and Joni Rensing and team the team of David Bettinger, Chris Rogers, Cole Weyant , Rick Brown and Tami McFadden are tied for first place with 11 under. Two teams are in second place with a 9 under. 

Wednesday Fall League: the team of Brad Hanna, Mike Fink, Jerry Waddle, Tammy Wright and Kim Butcher are in first place with a 16 under. The team of Richard Baum, Jordan Temple, Ike Wirble, Don Dodds, Jane Baker with a 15 under, the team of Rob Longbrake, Brian McFadden, Kenny Risner, Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer with 13 under. 
On Sunday the 24th of September the VMPGC found its new "Maters" Winner congratulations to Dean Brim with a 78 for a net 61. Becky Sloat our 2017 "Masters" winner, green jacketed Dean on his greatest game of the season!

A great turn out for the Luke Heilman Benefit we had 31 teams, money was raised for Luke's Fight.

Oct 8 Postal Outing 9.00 am shotgun. 


September 10, 2018​

There was a three way tie for the weekly round in the senior league. Doug Camper, Mike Fink and Terry Nichols tied for first. A two way tie for second by Duane Davis and Jerry Fraber created a wild and close finish to the season. Jerry Fraber was able to maintain his first place lead by a very narrow margin over second place finisher Doug Camper. Mike Fink finished third and Duane Davis was fourth.

Sep 23 - Te 16th Annual Master's Tournament, 9:00 am Shotgun.

The two person scramble is rescheduled for Sept 29th, 9:00 am shotgun.

The 10th Annual McClain Family High School Inventations: USV took 1st place with a total of 182, Kenton in 2nd place with a 185, Ada came in 3 rd place with 202, Riverdale placed 4th with a 209, Ridgemont finished 5th place with 237.

 The weekly winner in the Senior League was Doug Camper. Terry Nichols finishes second and Jerry Fraber was third. We have a new leader going into the final week of the Senior League. Jerry Fraber has returned to the overall lead and Doug Camper leapfrogged into second place. Marv Sallee fell from first to third and Duane Davis and Mike Fink lurk in fourth and fifth place, but with a mathematical chance to win it all. The final week will be September 4th and the banquet will be on September 1st. 


The Hardin County Golf Foundation thanks those nine households who have chosen the Foundation for their Kroger Community Awards recipient. This past quarter the Foundation realized a donation from Krogers in the amount of $ 68.85. 

Monday Night Fall League begins Sept 10th and Wednesday Night Fall League begins on September 12th. Fall rates begin on September 4th.

The rain has held back and delayed outings, leagues and matches this week, with the golf die hards DARE finished the outing with the following winners: The team of J Sanders took first place with a 15 under and The team of Wright's,McCLain and Praters took second place with a 13 under. A great time was held by all. A great thank you to the Hardin County Sheriff Department. 

The couple league finished their season on Friday with fun, prizes and pizza. Those that were unable to attend can pick up award at clubhouse. Thank you to all the couples, welcoming the newest members Brian and Tami McFadden and Russ and Paige Wallace. 

Monday Night Fall League begins Sept 10th and Wednesday Night Fall League begins on September 12th. Sign up available at clubhouse or call to sign up.

Mens Senior League: Duane Davis’s actual 35 made him the Sr. League weekly winner. Doug Camper was second and Mike Fink finished third. The first three places in the overall lead remains the same between Marv Sallee Jerry Fraber and Dick Battles. However,Duane Davis a fourth and Mike Fink in fifth are both in close striking distance. 

Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course would like to thank "The Knights of Columbus" for hosting their outing on Saturday, everyone had a great day. 

The Larue Lions hosted a fun filled day on Sunday with wonderful prizes and dinner, hosted Coonies Restaurant of LaRue. A big thank you from VMPGC. 

Couples League will be hosting the final week with pizza and awards "That Putt is Good".

Mens Senior League: Wayne Moon and Dave Jesse tied for first place in the weekly Senior League round. Paul Hatcher and Karl McNeal tied for second and Dick Battles and Roger Crowe tied for third. Marv Sallee remains the overall leader. Jerry Fraber is in second place and Dick Battles remains third. 

MPGC hosted the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance golf outing on Friday, August 10. Thirty teams, 120 golfers from five counties participated. A great time was held by all. 1st place gross was the team from Superior Credit Union. 1st place net was a local team from FLR Insurance. 

The Membership par 3 challenge was held on Saturday 1st place the teams of Todd Hayter, Clint Stuck, Brian McFadden and Tami McFadden. 2nd place team of Joey Osborn, Darrell Reese, Brad Hanna and Luey Hanna. 3rd place team of Billy Cozad, Cory Hayter, Doug Wright and Tami Wright.

Men's Senior League: There was a three way tie for the weekly round of Senior League by Marv Sallee, Mike Fink and Duane Davis. With Marv’s first place finish Tuesday, he moved into first place in the overall standings. Jerry Fraber slipped to second and Dick Battles dropped to third. 

Memorial Park Golf Club hosted Mid-Ohio energy in an Employee Appreciation golf outing Saturday August 4th a great time was had by all. 

The clubhouse is looking for part-time help apply in person. 

The couples league will be playing "water balloon tee". Thank you to all the couples participating.

Men's Senior League: 
Marv Sallee was the weekly winner in the Senior League. Mike Fink finished second and John Hatcher finished third. Jerry Fraber continues to lead the overall standings, but second place Dick Battles continues to gain points in the standings.With Marv’s recent wins, he has moved into third place. 

The Pig Skin Open: 1st place winners John Krock, Brayton Krock, Jordy Johnson and Theron Stout. 2nd place Mike Fink, Jed Dorsey, Dick Cannode and Russ Laubis. 3rd place Joe Prater, Sandy Prater, Greg McClain and Todd Hayter.

The weekly winner in the Tuesday Senior League was Marv Sallee. Paul Hatcher was second and Jim Ramge was third. Jerry Fraber remains the overall leader and Dick Battles remains in second and has moved closer to first. Bob Terry has moved into third place. 

The Kenton Fire Department with great success in between the weekend rains found their winners with a 15 under, congrats to the team of Rob Longbrake, Carl Sloat, Bob Jackson and Chris Conley.

It was a big holiday week at the mpgc on the 4th we had the annual member flag tournament with 44 members participating great turnout first place Dick Cannode, second place Gene Longbrake, third Bob Davis 4th Place Joni Rensing 5th Place Harold Hayes. 

On the 5th we had the heart of Ohio Junior Golf Tournament with 50 Juniors playing.On Saturday the 7th we had the Polar Bear Legacy Golf Outing proceeds going to fund the scholarship program at Hardin Northern, 

First place C Miller, C Wright, W Kruger and S Creps with a 15 under second place R Pees, C Bean, K Roberts and C.Kehler with a 14 under. 

Member Medal Play Round 1 begin July 14 Round 2 July 15.

July 3, 2018

The Senior League Weekly winner was Dave Jesse. Carter Cavalier finished second. Dick Battles and Duane Davis were tied for third. Jerry Fraber continues to be the overall leader, but Carter Cavalier has moved into second place and Dick Battles has moved up to third place. Doug Camper and John Hatcher fell back to fourth and fifth. Positions 2 through 8 are very tightly bunched, but Jerry Fraber continues to have a comfortable lead. 

Monday cooler league the team of Reese Overly, Mike Fink, Jeff Butcher and Kim Butcher won with 3 under. 

2018 Love Inc. Held there outing on Saturday, although very warm temperatures we had 25, 4 person teams. The team of Hanna, Hanna, Sloat and Bahr took first place. In second place the team of McCune, Bailey, Kohl and Deer. Third place team of Cannode, Fink, Hobensack and Hobensack.

The course will being summer hours on Sunday July 1st opening at 7:00 am.

The Dunkirk open held their outing on June 16th. In first place Kinnear, Kinnear, Harris and Thaxton. In second place the team of Williams, Halsey, Halsey and Bruno. 

The weekly winner in the Tuesday Senior League was Dick Battles. Jerry Fraber and Jim Ramge were tied for second. Jerry Fraber extended his lead in the Overall Standings and Doug Camper moved up into second and and John Hatcher moved up into third. Clarence Hensel and Roger Crowe fell back to fourth and sixth respectively. 

Monday night cooler league began The team Of Mike Fink and Kim Butcher held the team of Paul Coker and Jeff Butcher from taking a lead, both teams tied with a 36. 
All day special on Mondays and Fridays 


The "Tee Off for a Cure" ladies 4 person golf scramble will be held on Sunday, July 29. It is a 1:00 shotgun start. Any ladies interested in playing can pick up an entry form at the golf course starting next week. Anyone interested in sponsoring a hole($50) or a cart($25) in memory or honor of a family member or friend who is battling or has battled cancer can also pick up a form at the course. On Saturday June 2nd the KHS boys golf team held their annual golf outing. It was a great turnout with fantastic weather and a lot of money was raised for the KHS boys golf team.
In first place with a score of 17 under was the team of Dick Cannode Jed Dorsey Mike fink and Russ Laubis.
Coming in second with a score of 15 under was the team of Todd Hayter, Greg McClain, Clint and Annie Stuck.

The junior Clinic is on Tuesday morning the first sessions is at 10am second sessions at 11:30 sponsored by Kate Johnson. Junior League will start on the 21st every Thursday at 10 to noon all youth welcome even if you were unable to attend clinic. 

Spring League the team of Rob Longbrake Matt Bailey Don Dodds and Kim Butcher and the team of Brad Hanna, Dean Brim, Luey Hanna and Judy Brim are tied for first place with a 31 under. The team of Paul Coker, Reg Sampson, Steve Benson and Amy Albert in third place with a 30 under. 

The senior league was rained out Tuesday. Play will resume next week. 

June 16 - Dunkirk Open, 9:00 am Shotgun 

June 17 - Dunkirk Open (Raindate), 1:00 pm Shotgun 

Couples League will be playing the string game. Green fees 10.00 for nine holes with cart per non member, special cart prices for members. Tee times from 400 pm to 530. All couples welcome.

John Hatcher was the weekly winner in the Tuesday Senior League with Doug Camper and Paul Hatcher tied for second place. Jerry Fraber remains the overall leader, but Paul Hatcher has moved into second place nad John Hatcher is third. 

Spring League the team of Rob Longbrake, Matt Bailey, Don Dodds and Kim Butcher continues to defend first place with a 28 under. Second place the team of Todd Hayter, Reese Overly, Bob Jackson and Nanette Pfeiffer with a 25 under. In third place the team of Paul Coker, Reggie Sampson, Steve Benson and Amy Albert with a 24 under. 

Couples League will be playing Team Bullsh...t. and 7 beers for 7 bucks.

The Veteran's Memorial Park Golf Course will begin their Monday and Friday Special Rates all day on MY 14th. 24.00 w/ cart non members 22.00 for seniors 18 holes.

The Tuesday afternoon Senior League is underway, but still open for anyone interested in playing. The weekly winner for May 1 was Jerry Fraber. The weekly winner for this week was Ted Williams with John Connolly, Duane Davis and Lanny Dillon tied for second. The points leader for the year is Jerry Fraber, followed closely by John Connolly and Ted Williams. 

Spring League the team of Rob Longbrake, Matt Bailey, Don Dodds and Kim Butcher take the lead with 15 under in just 3 Weeks of play. The team of Brad Hanna, Dean Brim, Luey Hanna and Judy Brim and the team of Paul Coker Reggie Sampson Steve Benson Amy Albert tied for second place with a 12 under.

The District AMVETS held their outing. The winning team of T Purcell, D Harsh, B Boehm and R Brokers.

Spring League the team of Brad Hanna, Dean Brim, Luey Hanna and Judy Brim and the team of Robbie Longbrake, Matt Bailey, Don Dodds and Kim Butcher are tied for first place with a 9 under. 

Couples League will begin May 18, 2018 our first round we will be playing toss golf. Come join in the fun.

    Veteran's Memorial Park Golf Course finally sprung their first outing of the season with the Icebreaker. The team of Greg McClain, Doug Wright, Darrin Fogel and Drew Hobensack with a 91. 
    Second-place the team of Rob Davis, Joe Prater, John McEntee and Sandy Prater with a 93. Third place was the team of Todd Hayter, Reese Overly, Ike Wirble and Ethan Wirble.
    The proximity winners men's longest drive Drew Hobensack, ladies longest drive Joni Rensing, longest putt men's Doug Wright, ladies longest putt Kim Butcher, closest to the pin on number 16 Joni Rensing closest to the pin on number 9 Jack Rensing. Although a chilly morning it was a great day for a great game of golf. 

    Spring League there are four teams tied for first place with a 4 under the battle has begun. 

    May 1st, Tuesday , the Tuesday Morning Ladies Golf league will meet at 8:15 for a continental breakfast and then play a scramble starting at 9:00 AM.

As the weather continues to be uncooperative the ice breaker has been rescheduled for April 28th shotgun at 10 a.m. contact the clubhouse to sign up. 

The 19th hole is accepting applications for a part-time position to work the counter you must be the age of 19 or older. 

May 1st, Tuesday Morning Ladies Golf league will meet at 8:15 for a continental breakfast and then play a scramble starting at 9:00 AM. 

Couples league is scheduled to begin May the 18th tee-off time is between 4 and 5:30 it is not necessary to sign up for this league just show up on the Friday nights you're able to play The League will run through August the 24th.

Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course will be holding their Members "Ice Breaker" Challenge on April 21st shotgun at 10 a.m. You may call to sign up for the Icebreaker. 
Spring league for Monday night April 16th is cancelled due to weather.

The golf course reached a decision today regarding Spring League. So I apologize for late notice on swing thoughts. At popular request the spring league will be moved to Monday evenings beginning on April 09, 2018.

With Mother Nature being a little stubborn the Veteran's Memorial Park Golf Course has extended their early pay to March 31st. We also have extended our off-season rates until March 31st.
